Yoga became an integral part of my life over 20 years ago, when everything around me was spinning out of control. Through yoga, I have found vital pockets of stillness, support and a connection back to a "me" that had temporarily disappeared. Yoga was my antidote to helping me navigate through the messiness!
Yoga is now a permanent resident in my life, continuously giving me the space that I need to be my authentic self and accept that sometimes it's okay not to feel okay.
I am not proclaiming that yoga is the answer or cure to all that's wrong in the world. However, what I am saying is that I truly believe that practicing yoga can help restore balance into our lives. It can enable us to face those difficult physical and mental challenges with a different perspective. Recent research suggests that yoga practitioners report feelings of improved health and well-being. (British Medical Journal, 2020).
In my career path I have seen and worked with people suffering with anxiety and living with chronic pain.
I and many others believe that the power of yoga can help alleviate some of the underlying issues behind these conditions.
Studies and research projects are continuously being undertaken to help support the evidence behind the benefits of yoga practice.

Yoga isn’t about pushing your body to its limits. Being able to twist yourself into advanced postures doesn’t mean you’ve gained a better understanding of what yoga’s all about, and it doesn’t mean you’re any closer to enlightenment than anyone else.
So why rush? Take your time.
